KB Fit Britt was created as a resource to demystify kettlebells and make lifting kettlebells approachable for everyone. Since then, KB Fit Britt has expanded into additional areas including handstands, mobility, gymnastic strength training, and more. The KB Fit Britt approach to movement and exercise is not centered around getting a flat stomach, being toned, or any other aesthetic – here, we focus on strengthening body and mind together as one.
Why the kettlebells? Kettlebells are the most efficient tool for total body workouts that build strength and cardiovascular fitness simultaneously. Kettlebells can easily be used in your home, on the beach, or while traveling to get an amazing workout that strengthens body and mind.
Why the handstands? Movement should be FUN! Handstands are the way I express playfulness in movement. Plus they are great for shoulder stability, core strength, and body control. There is nothing as blissful as the extreme focus of holding a handstand; it’s living in the moment at its finest.
Why mobility? First and foremost, mobility mitigates injury risk so you can keep moving until you’re 100 years old! When you increase your flexibility and then learn to control it (i.e. mobility), you have an unlimited number of possibilities for movement - and you’ll feel amazing too.
Who is KB Fit Britt? Brittany discovered Kettlebell Sport in 2011 when she started working at Ice Chamber Athletic Performance Training, located in the SF Bay Area. She began competing in the sport in October 2012 and has since obtained her Master of Sport in 24kg Long Cycle, 24kg Snatch, 2x24kg Long Cycle, 2x20kg Triathlon, 20kg Snatch, 2x20kg Biathlon, and 16kg Snatch Half Marathon. Brittany holds numerous World and National records. She uses her expertise in Kettlebell Sport to teach workshops all over the world, train individual clients, and champion the Sport team at KOR Strength and Conditioning in San Diego, CA.
In addition to competing in dozens of Kettlebell Sport competitions nationally and internationally, Brittany has competed in powerlifting, run a half marathon, and is StrongFirst certified in hardstyle kettlebell lifting. Besides being known for her kettlebell prowess, Britt has become known for her handstand skills -- especially handstanding on a pair of kettlebells. She has been standing on her hands regularly since 2015, having learned mostly through self-discovery but also from handstand coach Jean-Luc Martin at the San Diego Circus Center. Britt loves all kinds of movement and is continually learning and expanding her skills. She strongly believes there is no “wrong” way to move; rather, one should properly prepare for whatever type of movement they want to do with their body.
